"Chef Steps – Breville Series: A Blend of Flavor and Innovation"

At the bustling heart of Pike Place Market, we created more than just a multi-camera live series; we brewed an interactive experience that blended the art of culinary education with the essence of brand storytelling for Breville. Each episode was a recipe for discovery, engaging viewers in the craft of espresso making while showcasing the prowess of Breville's machines.

In my role as Director of Photography, the vision was clear: to illuminate the finesse of coffee creation and culinary expertise in every frame. Alongside Creative Director Jane Houle and the adept team at Relay Station LLC, we turned kitchen craftsmanship into a visual spectacle. With a six-camera setup capturing every angle, our production was as fluid as the espresso itself. Overhead rigs provided a bird’s-eye view of the action, Dana Dollies carved graceful paths through the space, and our stabilized handheld shots added a dynamic, on-the-ground feel to the classes.

A standout moment from the series was the traditional Cochinita Pibil episode—an authentic culinary voyage where we documented the making of this Yucatan delicacy with a whole pig, lovingly prepared and cooked in a 'pib.' Despite unexpected challenges with the underground oven, our collective ability to adapt on the fly turned a potential setback into a delectable success, earning praise from Director Jane Houle. This particular episode wasn't just a testament to the team's synergy but also to the versatility and resilience we bring to live culinary productions—where even the unpredictability of cooking in a wood fired ‘pib’ becomes part of the enticing story we serve up.
